A Washington D.C. wine bar is suing Donald Trump claiming that his newly opened hotel is hurting their business.
Owners of the Cork Wine Bar Diane Gross and Khalid Pitts filed a lawsuit on Wednesday with the D.C. Superior Court. Khalid spoke out about the lawsuit at a press conference.
“We feel that the president of the United States, owning a hotel, owning restaurants, promoting those restaurants, is unfair and to the detriment of other businesses in the city.”
Instead of money, the people are asking Trump to close the property while he’s in the presidency. The White House press secretary Sean Spicer said:
“You know, obviously, the president has made very clear in that December press conference at Trump Tower, he doesn’t have conflicts and he’s done everything in accordance with the guidance that he’s been given and gone well beyond what he ever needed to do.”
