Six Flags Magic Mountain will be opening the first ever “mixed reality” roller coaster, which will bring virtual reality to the normal rollercoaster experience.
The ride called New Revolution Galactic Attack will be at both California’s Six Flags Magic Mountain and Six Flags Discovery Kingdom parks.
The ride utilizes a pass-through camera which allows people to see both the real world and the virtual world, which means that there is a combination of the experience. The Samsung VR headsets show a world where the passengers take part in a battle to save the earth from aliens, with three different potential endings.
Those eager to try out the ride can get an early pass by donating a full bag of non-perishables to the park’s food drive being held between February 18 and 20.
