Butterfly lovers should be aware of the Sanjay Gandhi National Park in Mumbai which is jam packed with the insect. The 40 square miles of the park have more butterfly species than in the entire United Kingdom.
There are 172 different species of butterflies in the park, and 100 of them are rare, so it’s a great place to go and see some butterflies that you probably haven’t seen before.
The Butterfly garden is at its peak from September to January, and is full of butterfly types like the Common Crow Butterfly, the Common Tiger, the Tailed Jay, Blue Tiger, the Common Jezebel, the Dark-branded Bushbrown, the Common Emigrant, the Red Pierrot, the Great Orange-tip, Gray Pansy, the Peacock Pansy, and the Gaudy Baron.
