Many people travel over the Thanksgiving holiday. According to travel numbers from the Allianz Global Assistance, the most popular destinations for Thanksgiving getaways are New York City and Cancun.
The two cities have been the most popular travel spots over the holiday for the past three years. Other cities like Los Angeles, Orlando, and Boston were within the top five of domestic locations. Within the top ten, Dallas, Washington, D.C., and Seattle made the list this year replacing Newark, Las Vegas, and Fort Lauderdale.
As far as international destinations go, London grabbed the second spot after Cancun and Paris and Puerto Vallarta were two other very popular international destinations. Other destinations in the top ten included Montego Bay, Nassau, Cabo, Aruba, and Rome.
As far as travel days go, most international travelers will take off November 18, while most domestic travelers will be catching their flights to leave town on November 21.
