North Carolina has passed an expensive bathroom bill that could end up affecting their tourism market. The bill was passed back in April of 2016 and will reportedly lose the state $3.76 billion of business within the next 13 years.
The bill requires transgender people to use the restroom that corresponds to their birth certificate. The moving of events due to the bill has already led to the cancellation of many conventions, concerts, and sporting events.
Musicians like Bruce Springsteen and Ringo Starr have refused to play in state as a protest, and they state also lost a PayPal facility that would have brought them $2.66 billion.
When the bill was first passed many Republicans were confident that it would not lead to a loss of money for the state.
