The “Fearless Girl” statue was placed on Wall Street recently to stare down the permanent “Charging Bull” statue but she was expected to be a temporary installation. Now it’s been announced that she will remain in her position for at least a year.
The mayor announced the news this week.
“Now, she’ll be asserting herself and affirming her strength even after her temporary permit expires — a fitting path for a girl who refuses to quit.”
The “Fearless Girl” was sculpted by Kristen Visbal and placed in Bowling Green Park for Women’s History Month. Some people want the statue to stay in place permanently, while other people see it as a gimmick.
