Nashville has plans to open an indoor drive-in movie theater in 2018 called the August Moon Drive-In. While the theater will be indoors, it will look like it’s outdoors.
The company says that “We’re building a set as if you’re going to shoot an outdoor scene in a movie, on an indoor stage.”
The drive-in will come equipped with not only 1,000 parking spots, but 50 classic cars, trees, hammocks, and fireflies to really set the mood.
The project is being led by an immersive entertainment creator named Michael Counts. Michael was also responsible for projects like “Paradiso: Chapter 1” and “The Walking Dead Experience.”
The popularity of drive-ins has, of course, dropped significantly since it’s height in the 1950’s and 60’s, but it sounds like the new twist on the old classic will be a hit.
