Uber India will begin to offer a chauffeur option called UberHIRE that allows people to rent a driver over a period of time.
A statement on their blog explains.
“It’s perfect for travelers exploring a new city, senior citizens who need to make trips punctuated with multiple stopovers, or for business travelers who have multiple meetings—while ensuring it is an economical option for everyone.”
Cities that will receive the new option include New Delhi, Bengaluru, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, Ahmedabad, Vizag, and Nagpur.
Times of India also added:
“Under UberHIRE, users can hold their Uber cab for up to 12 hours. The minimum fare ranges between Rs 449-649 for up to two hours or up to 30 km, post which they will be charged at Rs two per minute and Rs 12 per km.”
A ride that costs 1,440 Rs would be around $21.30.
