Marriott International has announced a new Luxury Brands Group that will be made up of eight different brands, including three Starwood brands that they recently acquired. The group will be made up of St. Regis, The Luxury Collection, W Hotels brands, The Ritz-Carlton, Ritz-Carlton Reserve, Bulgari Hotels & Resorts, EDITION, and JW Marriott.
Marriott also announced that they have about 128 luxury hotels in the works and that they will be opening up 28 new luxury hotels within a year, nine of which will be a part of the Luxury Brands Group.
Marriott’s global brand officer Tina Edmundson released a statement along with the announcement.
“With luxury travel up nearly 50 percent over the past five years, we see a long runway for growth at the high-end and have a world-class, dedicated luxury structure in place to nurture and strengthen this coveted portfolio of eight diverse luxury brands.”
