Each year Travel Weekly holds their Magellan Awards where they honor the best of the best within the travel industry. They honor the design and promotion within the industry as well as the more obvious companies that are involved with the travel experience, which they explain as follows.
“Travel’s yin yang is about pushing both interior and exterior boundaries. Travel involves moving physically around the world from pole to pole, across seas and continents, exploring depths and scaling heights. But it also reshapes a traveler’s interior landscape, shifting emotional, spiritual and intellectual boundaries, going deep and reaching high.
“Magellan winners are those marketers and designers whose exploration of travel’s yin yang taps the heart and soul of travel. They have ventured beyond the borders others have, perhaps unconsciously, set for themselves.”
Among airlines being given the award are Delta Air Lines, Qatar Airway, and British Airways. Under the hospitality industry those honored were the AIC Hotel Group All-Inclusive Hard Rock Hotels, the AM Resorts Company, Azul Beach Hotel Karisma Hotels & Resorts, and the Barceló Hotel Group.
Honored Cruise Lines include the Carnival Cruise Line, Celebrity Cruise Lines, and Crystal Cruises.
