Japan holds a winter festival called Nabana no Sato at the Nagashima hot spring resort, and the festival boasts one of the largest light displays in the country.
This year the festival’s theme is “the beauty of mother nature” and utilizes eight million lights to look like trees. The main attraction at the festival is a 98-foot tall tunnel to walk through that looks like it’s covered in twinkling fall leaves.
Outside of the tunnel, there are displays that honor different areas of the world such as Monument Valley in the United States, Antarctica, Plitvice Lakes National Park in Croatia, and Japan’s rice terraces.
Last year the festival received two million visitors and is growing each year.
