Cuba will be getting its first five-star hotel this spring thanks to the European luxury hotel group Kempinski Hotels. The Gran Hotel Kempinski Manzana La Habana will open inside Old Havana’s historic Manzana de Gómez building.
The hotel is expected to have 246 rooms, a rooftop terrace, a pool, three different restaurants, a spa, a business center, and a cigar lounge. The hotel will also have a 1,600-square-foot presidential suite.
The Cuba Educational Travel president Collin Laverty spoke about the addition to the town of Havana.
“The Kempinski hotel is a whole other level in terms of brand, professionalism and the size of the hotel. It certainly fills a gap in terms of supply. Almost all the upscale visitors in that part of town are trying to get into the Saratoga or the Parque Central, and the Kempinski is going to be a great offering.”
