British Airways is preparing for another strike shortly after wrapping up the last one. The next strike is currently planned for February 22.
This strike has to do with the members of the airline’s “mixed fleet” crew which are based at London’s Heathrow Airport and fly out on assigned domestic and international trips. The crew make a lot less money than those do who are the permanent crew however, which is cause for concern.
The airline has come up with replacement planes to keep some of the flights going during the strike, but of course it’s costing them. They have already threatened some of their employees that they will take away some of their travel perks if they continue to take part in the strikes.
“We want to encourage our colleagues to come to work and therefore have repeatedly explained the consequences of taking strike action to them.”
