A family is suing the airline Qantas after an incident where their toddler was injured on a flight from Manila to Sydney. The child was seated with his arm on the armrest when the inflight entertainment center fell on him and severed his finger.
The pilot refused to turn the plane around to get the child medical attention despite the fact that they were only in the beginning phase of the flight. Luckily a doctor was on board to bandage his finger in the meantime.
The child’s mother said that:
“It felt like the longest, worst flight of my life and we’ve done a lot of flying. It was only an hour and a half into the flight. We had another six hours until we got to Sydney.”
The family is seeking damages over the claim that the child has a permanent disability from the accident that could affect him later on in life.
