Many Americans have been canceling their trips to Mexico over fears about the recent travel bans. According to a survey given to 166 travel agents, eight percent of their clients have recently canceled or rescheduled trips that were previously booked for Mexico.
John Werner, the president and COO of MAST spoke out about the change.
“The intensifying issues of immigration, the border wall, and trade are, in my view, going to cause some customers to think twice about a vacation in Mexico if they feel they are not welcome. I don’t believe anyone should feel that way, but based on our member survey, agents are hearing concerns from their clients.”
The survey also said that 52 percent of clients expressed not wanting to go to Mexico, while 49 percent said that they didn’t want to travel internationally at all.
