The travel search engines are reporting surges in the search for one way travel tickets, presumably from all the U.S. citizens looking for a literal out because of how the presidential election turned out. So much so in fact, that the Canada immigration website actually crashed.
Some travel sites reported that between 6 PM ET Tuesday and 8 AM ET Wednesday there was a big increase in volume. Cheapflights.com reported that Canada has 1000 percent more searchers for one way tickets, and that Japan, Australia, the U.K., New Zealand, South Africa, and Germany also experiences a surge of the same.
New Zealand also saw a surge in immigration registration since November 1, a total of 1,593 within seven days which is 50 percent of what they usually get over an entire month.
In other areas of the world, search results show an increased increased in people interested in traveling to the United States, which also happened after the U.K. went through Brexit and saw a massive drop to the worth of the pound.
