Just recently, United Airlines ran into a scheduling situation and needed to “make some space on the flight.” However, overbooking and then forcibly ejecting passengers is all totally legal, and it’s just one way to get kicked off a flight. Another thing to be aware of is passengers allergic to nuts can be asked to leave. Should the flight crew find out that you’re severely allergic to nuts, it could get you deplaned.
