When boarding a plane or choosing assigned seats, many people prefer sitting near the front of the plane. However, according to a flight attendant named Annie Kingston, you’ll actually be getting better service if you sit nearer to the back.
For one thing, it’s easier for flight attendants to respond to the needs of passengers closer to the back of the aircraft. If you’re asking for something extra they have an easier time passing it off to you without others seeing them do so. If flight attendants have to walk to the front of the plane with something, more people are likely to notice and ask for the same thing. This creates more work, and it also makes it more likely that they’ll run out of the item.
Some of her other tips include avoiding the window seats if you get cold easily, as well as avoiding the bulkhead if you don’t want to be near any babies.
