Vail Resorts has announced their plan to leave zero carbon footprint. Their plan entitled “Epic Promise for a Zero Footprint” aims to be widdle down their footprint to nothing by 2030.
The plan focuses on three categories of emissions, waste, and forests and habitat. The resort is investing $25 million in projects to cut down on their waste, as well as purchasing completely renewable energy. They will also encourage their guests to reduce their own carbon footprints as well.
The resort hopes to have zero landfill waste by 2030 as well, which they’ll head towards by composting and using recyclable products. As if that wasn’t enough, they’ll also be planting an acre of trees for each acre that their resort has displaced.
