A company called Le Collectionist is offering a more upscale alternative to AirBnb for travelers who’s style is more skewed towards renting out a complete private property…perhaps even one that belongs to Leonardo DiCaprio or Sir Richard Branson.
The company currently offers 1,000 different rental properties across six continents, and 70 percent of their business is in the Greek islands, the Côte d’Azur, and the French Alps.
Each rental comes with a local concierge and daily housekeeping is included in the rental prices, making the stays more like a private hotel experience.
The company’s co-founder Max Aniort says that 40 percent of their customers are repeats, and that they are mostly made up of couples in their 20’s and 30’s who have children.
“We’re like a PA for your holidays. So instead of going through 20 pages on Airbnb to find your perfect property, we schedule a short call, maybe five minutes or so, to help you find the right home. If you have young kids, for example, we might point out that a place you like sits right on the edge of a cliff.”
There is not any specific criteria that the houses have to meet to make it into the portfolio, but they currently accept around 20 percent of the 100 to 150 submissions that they receive each month.
