United Airlines will now be adding more seats to 90 of their exisiting Boeing 777-200 planes. This requires reorganizing the existing setup.
Instead of shrinking the pitch space of the seats, they’ll be adding in an extra chair, making rows ten across instead of nine. The seat pitch will remain at the current amount of 31 inches for economy and 34 for economy plus.
Other airlines have done a similar thing by turning their rows into ten across, but most of them also have to adjust their seat pitch to do so. American Airlines and British Airlines are two others who have made similar changes to their planes to make room for more passengers on each flight.
