Uber is launching a rewards program that will allow riders to earn free rides. The feature works by giving Uber credits for using Visa cards at certain stores.
The program is aptly called “Visa Local Offers,” and simply requires that users have a Visa card linked to their account. From there they can activate the feature from within their Uber app. Once the rewards program is activated, the credits from shopping with the Visa will be stored in the Uber account with no expiration date.
Some of the participating stores and restaurants include Dunkin’ Donuts, Neiman Marcus, QDOBA Mexican Eats, Regal Cinemas, Steak ‘n Shake, Walgreens, Wingstop, and Yard House.
In addition to the participating chains, there are also local spots taking part in certain cities such as Belga and Lolinda in San Francisco, plus Comoncy, Saint & Second, and Tatsu Ramen in Los Angeles.
