The U.S. will soon be tightening up airport security measures instead of banning laptops completely which would be a real pain for travelers. The changes do mean that there will be more “extensive screening” processes and that there will be some delays because of it.
Homeland Security Secretary John Kelly spoke about the changes.
“It is time that we raise the global baseline of aviation security. We cannot play international whack-a-mole with each new threat. Instead, we must put in place new measures across the board to keep the traveling public safe and make it harder for terrorists to succeed.”
The news means that travelers might need to allow for more time at the airport to avoid missing any flights.
