Donald Trump’s newest hotel opened this week in Washington D.C. The Trump International Hotel Washington, D.C was built at at 1100 Pennsylvania Avenue, which used to be the location of the Postmaster General’s building. The company made a deal with the federal government to secure the building and restore it, which includes a 60 year lease.
The hotel features 35 different suites, which includes a 4,000 square foot presidential suite that has three bedrooms, a large living room, a dining room with a butler’s pantry, a kitchen, and 16 foot tall ceilings. The suite used to be the Postmaster General’s office.
There is also a a 6,300 square foot “Trump Townhouse,” which is a two level apartment with a private entrance off of Pennsylvania Avenue. A night in that townhouse will cost $20,000 a night.
The clock tower on the building will remain open to the public, and there will also be other public areas like the Benjamin Bar and Lounge, and The Spa by Ivanka Trump.
Donald’s daughter Ivanka serves as the executive vice president of development and acquisitions for the Trump Organization, and released a written statement about the new hotel.
“Our team has worked tirelessly to restore and preserve the historical elements of the Old Post Office in transforming the building to a world-class hotel.
