Kayaking is already a popular way to check out the ocean and its inhabitants, but now there are transparent kayaks that will provide a whole new way to see the sites.
The company that created the transparent kayak is called Crystal Explorer. They are constructed out a clear Lexan. The company’s founder James Martin explained.
“The kayaks are 11 feet long and just under three feet wide and are designed to accommodate either one or two people. The design includes high sides and the open cockpit of a canoe, while users can paddle the craft as if they were in a kayak. A low center of gravity helps with tracking in the water, making it easier for beginners to use. The Crystal Explorer weighs 47 lbs, making it easy to carry, while the hardware is marine-grade quality, and the kayak only requires a rinsing with fresh water after use for cleaning.”
The kayaks can be purchased for $1,499 but will also be available for rental at many kayak rental companies.
