A tourist was struck by a car and killed while taking a selfie on the Autobahn east of Hamburg, Germany, which has no enforced speed limit. The man and two of his friends were reportedly taking photos of themselves bear a barrier when a car hit the man.
The car reportedly had no time to avoid the collision and the accident shut down the A24 for over three hours on Sunday. The other two men that were there were uninjured but taken to the hospital and treated for shock.
A police spokesman at the time said that “The men are clearly drunk and are currently not able to be interrogated.”
A Foreign Office spokesman said that:
“We are supporting the family of a British man who sadly died in Germany on April 30 and are in contact with the local authorities.”
