The Effiel Tower was once the most Instagrammed place in the world, but now Disneyland, California holds the top spot. According to a study by the deals aggregator Travel Bird, in the past year, there were 14.6 million hashtags at the location.
The Effiel Tower came in second place with 7.2 million hashtags. Walt Disney World in Florida came in third place with 5.4 million hashtags.
The original Disneyland first opened in 1955 and continued to grow in popularity ever since. Most Instagram users are in a younger demographic so that aspect might play into which locations seem to be the most popular on the social media site. Around 55 percent of Instagram users are between the ages of 18 and 29, and 28 percent of them are between the ages of 30 and 49.
