Despite the recent terrorist attack in Manchester and a threat level increase to “critical,” tourism is not expected to take a huge drop. Some European countries have seen a slight drop since the incident but not anything too significant.
Reports continue to show that people are interested in visiting the countries, and travel agents have been speaking out about the responses they’ve been getting as well. Greg Antonelle, the managing director of Mickey Travel, LLC pointed at the perspective that this event could have happened anywhere.
“There is no fear to travel to England, Europe or anywhere else for that matter. Sadly, we live in a world where this tragedy can occur anywhere. If it wasn’t in Manchester, it could have been in New York City, Rome or Barcelona. If it didn’t happen at a concert, it could have happened at a soccer match, movie premiere or at a political rally.”
