A town in Sweden got the strange news that it was to be relocated two miles east thanks to a bad foundation. To make sure everyone felt okay about the move, a developer built a sauna shaped like a giant egg for people to meet and discuss “rebirth.”
The sauna is literally a giant golden egg and holds eight people at a time. While it’s there, you too can visit the egg. The travel company Off the Map is offering it as an add-on stop to the Arctic Itineraries that they plan. They released a statement about the opportunity.
“The egg shape seeks to symbolize rebirth and new opportunities at the start of Kiruna’s urban transformation, a project that involves the relocation of entire city districts in response to ground subsidence caused by decades of iron ore mining.”
