There is a startup that has the intentions of reducing airport boredom. ReachMe.TV want to do this by way of its in-airport mobile entertainment network. The network offers programs that are designed to be watched in short bursts like news segments, as opposed to full shows.
There are 50 airports in the U.S. and Canada that are currently using ReachMe.TV. People can sync their phones and tablets to the screens that are playing the content and then take the content with them.
Co-founder and CEO Lynnwood Bibbens explained the idea for the concept.
“I love ‘Law & Order,’ but if I have to catch my plane and I only have 40 minutes, I can’t watch that because I know I won’t be able to see the end of the episode. So by creating content that’s six to ten minutes, now I can consume two to three different episodes.”
