A new startup is intending to change the way that people travel, by giving tourists the opportunity to connect with locals in the places that they visit for more of an immersion experience. A woman named Gloria Molins came up with the idea behind Trip4real, which encourage micro-entrepreneurship.
The 33-year-old realized that her favorite part about traveling was meeting locals, and ultimately she decided to quit her day job at Google and stay on the road.
“I believe you only truly know a place when you connect with someone local and that traveling is about people, not just places. If we go back to the beginnings of travel, it was all about discovering, knowledge and a personalized experience.”
Currently the platform is available in 70 European cities, and gives people the chance to meetup and entrepreneurs a way to go practice their passions.
“At Trip4real, we’re entrepreneurs building a company for micro-entrepreneurs. If you think about it, each of the locals who lists an activity on our site and shares their passions, interests or hobbies is launching a small business. Besides this, we also do a lot of cool hunting to find the most incredible locals in each city.”
