People love the exclusive stuff, especially if they have any interest in protecting their privacy. Some ski resorts are now hoping to appeal to these people by offering the rentals of entire mountains.
Silverton Mountain in Colorado allows people the option to rent out the entire place for $14,000. The resort sits on 1,819 acres, but for an extra $900 guests can also get access to 29,000 acres and a helicopter. Might as well.
This trend is more popular than you might think. The Hermitage Club in Vermont allows members to rent out all of its 194 acres for $60,000 per day. There are even places that get more exclusive than that. The Cimarron Mountain Club in Colorado only lets in 15 members at a time…and each membership costs $3.2 million.
