Six Flags recently announced that they will be building a Wonder Woman Golden Lasso Coaster at its Fiesta Texas location in San Antonio. The ride will be the world’s first single-rail roller coaster ever. That means it will run on a single steel track that’s only 15.5-inches wide.
Larry Chickola, the Six Flags VP and chief corporate engineer spoke out about the new roller coaster.
“I expect it to be crazy smooth. And crazy fun. There will be extremely quick twists and turns – quicker and smoother than regular coasters.”
Most roller coasters are on two different tracks, and so there is naturally a lack of consistent alignment between the two tracks in certain places. That adds to the bumpy nature of riding along at high speeds. This new design is expected to change all that.
