A new service called Gynopedia aims to provide information for women seeking gynecological care when they’re traveling abroad. One female traveler was inspired by her own experiences traveling.
The coampny’s founder Lani Fried explained.
“When I began preparing for my travels, I realized that I had no idea how I would get birth control in the twelve or so Asian countries that I planned to visit. And that was just the tip of the iceberg.”
The site is a wiki which means that anyone can add information to it, and it currently has health care information for 77 different cities in 48 different countries.
“Whether someone lives in a town of five hundred or a city of fifteen million people, we urge anyone who has even a little bit of useful information to create a page and share their knowledge.”
