The Seattle-Tacoma airport is an incredibly busy one. The airport came up with the idea to help streamline some of the waits at security with the help of a robot named Tracy.
Tracy is a life-sized robot who will zoom around checking out the passengers waiting in line. She’ll be able to tell people if they need to remove their belts or other items, as well as is available for asking questions about the security procedure.
David Wilson the director of innovation for Sea-Tac International Airport spoke about the addition.
“We’re trying to evaluate whether robotic technology can actually help us process passengers more quickly through the checkpoint lines. We have seen effects already. Just really early, preliminary, that someone will watch it, and then they’ll go ahead and start taking something out and putting it away.”
If it works out they’ll buy more.
