The Rockefeller Center has announced the date of their tree lighting ceremony. It might seem a bit early to do so but the holidays are quickly approaching. The live televised lighting ceremony will take place this year on Wednesday, November 29.
The giant tree will be decorated with 50,000 multicolored lights, as well as topped with a Swarovski crystal star that weighs in a whopping 550pounds.
Throughout the holiday season, the tree is lit from 5:30 AM to 11:30 PM. It welcomes 800,000 visitors each and every day while it’s up.
This year’s tree lighting ceremony will be aired live on NBC from 8 PM to 9 PM EST.
