A recent report released by the World Travel & Tourism Council and Travelport has shared numbers detailing how much business travel is expected to rise over the next decade. The report suggests that the sector should increase 3.7 percent each year for the next ten years.
Business travel in the Asia-Pacific is expected to rise the most significantly, with an expected 6.2 percent each year. The Travelport CEO Gordon Wilson released a statement about the findings.
“Every day we see business travel growing at a significant rate in many emerging markets with technology playing an in increasingly important role in easing the way for those on trips for their work. As an industry, we need to continue to invest in the best technologies and infrastructure whilst governments need to be more business-friendly by removing burdensome visa requirements.”
The United States, China, the United Kingdom, Germany, and Japan are the still the largest business travel markets.
