The idea to build a railway connecting London and Tokyo was first brought up years ago. Now Russian President Vladimir Putin has been said to be having serious talks about the idea with officials in Japan.
The Trans-Siberian railway would cover 8,400 miles, which would include creating a 28-mile bridge to cross the East Sea. The train would travel through Russia, Germany, Poland, and a lot of Eastern Europe.
The concept of the train could give the economy a boost in Russia as well as increase the tourism to Japan. So far many travelers and younger citizens are interested in the idea, which was first shared at Russia’s Eastern Economic Forum.
