Qatar had introduced a visa-free entry program in an effort to increase tourism to the country. The program extends to 80 different countries which include the U.S., U.K., Mexico, China, France, Germany, Spain, and Cuba.
Instead of requiring a visa to enter Qatar, people from the selected countries only need their passports.
Qatar’s Tourism Authority Chief Tourism Development officer, Hassan Al Ibrahim, released a statement about the move.
“Easing entry to Qatar is a key enabler for the growth of Qatar’s tourism industry. Together with our partners in the public and private sectors, we have examined all of the elements needed to create a smooth and enticing experience that can attract visitors from around the world. There is no doubt that facilitating and streamlining access at all ports of entry are key factors in creating a positive first and lasting impression of Qatar.”
