Puerto Vallarta is on pace to see a record number of visitors this year. The Puerto Vallarta Tourism Board explained that the hotel occupancy rate raised six percent in the first six months of 2017.
They reported a 90 percent hotel occupancy compared to 73 percent in 2016, and 70 percent in 2015. The Puerto Vallarta International Airport saw an increase of 12 percent more travelers during the first six months of the year when compared to the previous year. Cruise visitors stopping in Puerto Vallarta increased two percent.
This is all good news for the city which had a record year in 2016. The area is known for its wonderful accommodations and is considered one of the most LGBT-friendly travel destinations in the world.
