Puerto Rico‘s tourism department has revealed their plans to get things up and running again within the next 90 days. The first step in the plan will be to get the hospitals, gas stations, pharmacies, dialysis centers, and banks back open.
The goal with that, of course, is to make sure that everyone who needs help on the island has access to it. The Luis Munoz International Airport is back open which was a crucial step for getting necessary supplies to the island.
Seventy-five percent of the cruise ports are back open, as are 72 percent of the shipping docks. The Puerto Rico Tourism Company executive director Jose Izquierdo released a statement about the plan and growing support.
“We are deeply grateful to our most loyal travel partners for their committed support and generosity. What will continue to keep us strong and on a path to rebuilding will be continued assistance like this and I’m hopeful we’ll continue to receive support from other partners. We remain confident that Puerto Rico will quickly recover and the resiliency and strength of our people will get us through the days ahead.”
