The Port of Hamburg is becoming increasingly popular as a hub for cruise ships making stops. The area recently celebrated Hamburg Cruise Days 2017 and welcomes 500,000 people for the event.
In 2016 there were 1,866 passengers disembarking in Hamburg from cruises, and by 2017 that number had grown to 3,559. There has been an increase in the number of cruise ships that stop in the area, which now includes Holland America, Princess, and Oceania.
Hamburg is connected to the North Sea by the Elbe river. It has hundreds of canals and being on the water is a huge part of its charm. It’s the second largest city in Germany and the country’s biggest port.
Tourists can enjoy learning about the long history of Hamburg, as well as checking out the more modern museums and shows. It’s also a great place to enjoy seafood thanks to the fact that it’s on the water.
