P&O Cruises has announced that they will now be offering same sex weddings on their ships. They become the first British cruise line to do so after the Supreme Court in Bermuda ruled to allow same-sex marriages at sea.
The ship has already started receiving bookings for the service, which will begin on the Azura in January of 2018. P&O Cruises senior vice president Paul Ludlow spoke out about the opportunity.
“I am delighted that following this much-anticipated change in the legalities we are now the first British cruise line to be able to arrange same sex weddings on board. Weddings at sea are very romantic and getting married by the Captain in the middle of the ocean is an unforgettable experience.”
Couples can now purchase Wedding at Sea packages and the marriage licenses will be issued by Bermuda.
