A recent study from Kayak has found that most people admit to using some work time to research their next vacation. As many as 57 percent of people admitted to looking up travel related stuff at work.
Of those people, most of them actually did their research between 11 AM and noon which could be considered lunchtime. As many as two-thirds of those people were doing their searching on a work desktop computer which means that they weren’t too concerned about being discovered.
These behaviors actually changed by city. Chicago, New York, and New Orleans had the highest rates of travel searching while at work, while Las Vegas and Honolulu were some of the lowest.
Another study that Forbes did in 2015 found that 89 percent of people admit to wasting some time at work, and 39 percent cite the internet as a top distraction.
