A recent survey found that almost one-third of Americans are planning to take some time off to travel in 2017, which is a jump from 2016.
Around 42 percent of Americans are planning to take a vacation this year, and many are seeking out the warm weather destinations.
Bill Sutherland, the senior vice president of travel and publishing at AAA released a statement about the coming trends.
“There is a lot of pent-up demand for travel in the new year. Whether they’re taking a road trip to a well-known domestic destination or visiting an exotic international locale, today’s travelers are seeking experiences that are unique and immersive.”
Flight prices are expected to be higher than in 2016, but they are still nine percent lower than they were in 2015.
