New York’s Plaza Hotel is reportedly on sale. The hotel’s owner The Sahara Group has reached out to JLL Hotels and Hospitality Group to find someone to buy it. It has been estimated that the hotel might sell for $560 million.
The Sahara Group bought a 75 percent stake in the hotel back in 2012 when its value was $575 million. Previous owners of the hotel include Conrad Hilton and President Donald Trump.
There has recently been a bit of controversy at the hotel. Some hotel employees reportedly filed a sexual harassment lawsuit against both the Sahara Group and Fairmont Hotels & Resorts. The lawsuit stated that the female employees at the hotel were forced to endure a “rape culture.”
It is unclear whether the lawsuit will have anything to do with the impact of the sale.
