Nice pools in Los Angeles and New York are a popular social setting, but since they’re all located at hotels not all of the general public has unlimited access to them. Now there is an app called Dip which aims to provide the opportunity for its users to get into pools that they otherwise would not be able to.
The app was created by a 26-year-old L.A. native named Dylan Bushnell who saw the need for the tool. Basically the app can provide people with ways to get poolside or enjoy other hotel amenities without paying for an entire hotel room. The app offers options like getting pool access, renting cabanas, and renting day beds at a variety of different hotels. Users still have to pay for the services, but it is cheaper than the option of booking a room.
Dylan explains as follows:
“We really wanted to ease people’s ability to access those kinds of experiences. There are plenty of hotels in Los Angeles that have been experimenting with this model (of allowing non-guests to access to their amenities), but there wasn’t any system supporting that.”
Dip is currently in its beginning stages and only available in Los Angeles and New York, but might roll out to other cities when it gets going.
