The home goods shop Muji, owned by Ryohin Keikaku Co., is known for its minimal designs. Now the brand will be opening as a hotel in Tokyo with a similar aesthetic. The hotel has a planned opening for spring of 2019.
The hotel will be located in a ten story building in the upscale Ginza district of Tokyo. The building will be split between both the hotel and the brand’s store. The top four floors are reserved for the hotel while the rest of the building will be for the store and it’s basement storage.
The company’s president and representative director Satoru Matsuzaki said that he hopes the hotel will be “a place where customers can thoroughly experience Muji product lineups.”
They also have a hotel planned for China as well.
