The pod hotel concept has been pretty popular over in Japan, but now Mexico City is getting in on the trend as well. The Mexico City International Airport is launching izZzleep in Terminal 1.
The pod hotel concept has 40 different pods, as well as bathrooms and locker rooms for guests to use. Each capsule fits one person and offers a high-definition TV, a safe, Wi-Fi, and USB charging ports for electronics.
The pods can be rented at $8 an hour for naps or $30 for the entire night. The hotel is currently in a test phase but expects to welcome 12,000 people within its first year.
They are also planning to open one in the Terminal 2 of the airport, as well as others in the towns of Guadalajara, Monterrey, Tijuana, and Cancun.
