On Thursday a man opened fire at the Champs-élysées in Paris, killing one police officer and injuring others. The man reportedly got out of his car at a traffic light and started shooting at a police car. As the man started running police opened fire back at him and ultimately killed him.
The police department released an advisory to steer clear of the area.

French President Francois Hollande released a statement about the incident.
“We are greatly determined to fight terrorism here and every place where our forces are engaged. My thoughts are with the family of the police officer killed and those close to the wounded.”
